National Science FoundationThe National Science Foundation (NSF) has been a long-time supporter of the U.S. Department of Energy's advanced vehicle technology competitions. In addition to providing financial support to FutureTruck, each year they have provided a $20K award for faculty members who, through their efforts, have made significant contributions to the goals of the FutureTruck program and to engineering education. This year's award will be the seventh outstanding faculty advisor award sponsored by NSF. The NSF is an independent agency of the U.S. government responsible for investing more than $4.4 billion annually in almost 20,000 research and education projects. These projects cover nearly every field of science and engineering. The NSF also encourages high-quality education at all levels and heavily supports graduate education in the sciences and engineering. Known for promoting science, the NSF has funded numerous scientific advanced. Grant recipients have been recognized by several Nobel prizes and other prestigious awards. |
